Sunday, Aug 2

This morning I played at the 11:00 service at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Los Altos. The Organist & Music Director there is Lynda Alexander, who used to be the organist/director at St. Andrew Episcopal in Saratoga when I was the interim bell director there (Larry Sue is the bell director now - Hi, Larry!).

Here's what we played:

PRELUDE: "Trumpet Tune" by Jeremiah Clarke & "Air" by Henry Purcell - w/organ

INTROIT: "Grazioso" by Arnold Sherman - w/piano

OFFERTORY: "Be Still My Soul" arr by Christine Anderson - w/piano

COMMUNION: "Meditation on Bach's First Piano Prelude" (AKA "Ave Maria") by Charles Gounod - w/piano

POSTLUDE: "Trumpet Voluntary" (AKA "The Prince of Denmark's March") by Jeremiah Clarke - w/organ

All of these (except "Grazioso") are on my CD "Chimera"! I plan to record "Grazioso" with harp accompaniment (Kevin Holsinger) on the next Bronzewood Paedeia CD "Nocturnes (and other delights)". Can't wait - it's going to be sooo pretty!

This afternoon, Brian & I are at a birthday party for our friend Bev - it's called "Bevfest" because it's a big concert in the back yard. There's going to be a jam session later, so I brought my bells & am ready to have fun! Brian brought his camera, so I'll be sure to post pics!!
